Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary) is a school with a family culture, anchored on Christian beliefs and values. The Direct School Admission (DSA-Sec) selection criteria for PLMGS(Sec) are listed in the table below.

Student Leadership	Student Leadership	Students should possess distinctive leadership qualities/disposition such as Positive attitudes, e.g. persevering spirit, excellence mindset Passionatein one’s pursuit Confident communicators Ability to work in teams Students should hold a leadership position in the Primary School such as School Prefect, e.g. Head Prefect, Vice Head Prefect CCA Leader or other leadership position in the school Students should include leadership involvement (if any) in school-wide events or events representing schools.	Shortlisted applicants are required to attend a face-to-face selection activity. Selection Activity Applicants will be put into small groups and different activities will be conducted. Through the activities, applicants will be assessed based on the leadership qualities/ disposition outlined in the selection criteria. Interview (when required) They can bring along a hard copy portfolio of the events organised in the primary school to the interview.
Performing Arts	Guzheng Handbells Harp	Students should have relevant accomplishments such as certification by accredited music examination boards or performed at zone / national level (e.g. SYF Arts Presentation, National Music Competition etc.) Students should be able to appreciate and enjoy making music in the style of an ensemble display an emotional connection to music while performing work well with others as a team	Shortlisted students are required to attend a face-to-face audition. Audition Guzheng and Harp students will perform 1 or 2 pieces of music of their own choice Handbell students are required to participate in a Handbell group audition. Interview (when required)
Sports	Badminton Netball Rhythmic Gymnastics Swimming Table Tennis Volleyball	Students should have represented in zone or national competitions or equivalent in the talent areas listed or are a Member of Junior Sports Academy (JSA) or school team	Trials The face-to-face Selection Trials will be based on a combination of the following Physical Ability Test Sports Technical Skills Test Personal Qualities Students should bring their own equipment, if applicable. Application Procedures

Application for DSA-Sec can be submitted through the online DSA-Sec Portal. The application is free-of-charge and will be open from 07 May 2024, 11am to 3 Jun 2024, 3pm. For more details, please refer to MOE website – https://www.moe.gov.sg/secondary/dsa.
Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.
Shortlisted students who pass the trial / audition will be invited for an interview. Attending the interview does not guarantee the student will be given an offer. Only students who cleared the interview will be given an offer. Meeting all the criteria does not guarantee the student will be shortlisted or given an offer.
Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are expected to honour their commitment to the school and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for from Secondary 1 to 4. If those who are unable to fulfil the DSA commitment without valid reasons, they may be required to transfer out to another school.
Students not studying in MOE mainstream primary schools and not taking the PSLE will need to sit for placement tests conducted by the school. International students not studying in MOE mainstream schools should register and take part in Admission Exercise for International Students (AEIS).
Students will be informed of the outcome of their DSA Application via email by Monday, 9 September 2024.
